Self Drilling Screws

Unlike self tapping screws and woodscrew, self drilling screws do not require a pre-drilled or pilot hole and each screw features a drill point at the end. Self drilling screws come in a variety of numbered options, the numbers representing the strength of the drill point with higher numbered screws having the ability to drill into thicker materials.

A Video Introduction To Self Drilling Screws

If you have a self-drilling screw that you don’t know the number of, you can find out a rough estimate by measuring the length of the drilling tip, which will provide an approximate maximum thickness that the screw will be able to drill through. However, we recommend erring on the side of caution when using this method as if the material being drilled into is too thick for the screw, it may jam and pull the head off.

Our self drilling screw range consists of countersunk Phillips head screws, wafer head screws and hex headed screws with bonded washers. All of these screws are made from bright zinc plated steel and are available in a variety of sizes.
