Underfloor Heating for Vinyl

Electric underfloor heating is a wonderful companion for your vinyl floor, giving a touch of luxury and comfort to your bare feet. Vinyl is naturally flexible and sturdy, making it a dependable choice for underfloor heating. It also resists heat and moisture well, ensuring lasting satisfaction.

However, different vinyl types have different heat tolerances. Luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) are usually the best but remember to check with your flooring manufacturer about compatibility to avoid any warranty issues. We also suggest choosing a system with suitable wattage per square metre, considering your vinyl type and desired warmth. Larger rooms or areas with less insulation might need higher heat output or tighter cable spacing for even heat distribution.

We have three electric underfloor heating systems that work with vinyl: sticky mats, loose cables, and foil mats. Sticky mats and loose cables are mostly used for tiles and stone, but they also suit vinyl (LVT) if installed with a 10mm levelling compound bed. Foil mats are perfect for floating floor finishes, such as laminates and engineered wood flooring, and are compatible with LVT, if installed with our Heat Pak Dual overlay.
