PVC Fascia Boards

PVC fascia boards are used both in new build and refurbishment projects on homes throughout the UK. We stock a variety of different styles of UPVC fascias, with our most popular profile being the full replacement 18mm thick boards, which have a rounded bottom edge and can take in a UPVC soffit board via incorporated grooves. Other alternative styles include bull-nosed and decorative ogee fascia boards.

Why Choose Our Plastic Fascia Boards?

We've been supplying plastic fascia boards manufactured by FloPlast and Freefoam, two of the top plastic manufacturers in the UK and Europe, to homeowners all throughout the UK for over a decade. Both of these brands boast a number of awards and certificates for quality and reliability, which are backed up industry-leading guarantees.

Both FloPlast's and Freefoam's UPVC fascia boards are BBA approved and have a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee, except for the classic white fascia boards, which boast a 20-year guarantee. We offer 12 unique colours of fascia, including both smooth and woodgrain options, and for all colours we offer a full range of trims, fittings and ancillaries to help your installation go smoothly.

A Low-Maintenance Solution With UPVC Fascia

Our plastic fascia boards offer a virtually maintenance-free roofline solution, as their outer skins are resistant to climatic extremes and will not allow moisture to penetrate the core of the board. This ensures that they will not deteriorate in the way that traditional timber fascia will, through rot or warping, and all these benefits come without the need for applying protective treatments or painting.

Much like timber, our UPVC fascia boards can be shaped, nailed, drilled and cut; however, unlike timber, they do not ignite easily, and the spread of flame is limited.

What Are Plastic Fascia Boards Made From?

PVC-U is the material used to make our fascia boards, which stands for polyvinyl chloride un-plasticised. This is a strong, highly durable, yet lightweight plastic that is ideal for building products due to its resistance to weathering and affordability. UPVC fascias will not rot, warp, crack or erode.

Floplast’s woodgrain finish boards are wrapped in a Renolit foil that has been tested in accordance with DIN4012-B2 and DIN EN ISO13501-1, where the requirements according to RALGZ716/1 Section I Part 7 are fully met.

Freefoam manufactures one of the UK's most technologically advanced colour PVC-U and PVC-UE fascia and soffit ranges using their unique, patented, Colormax technology. The strength of the Colormax® technology combined with the two-part co-extrusion process delivers boards made of a cellular foam core (PVC-UE) with a top coating of rigid PVC to give a smooth, protective, and hardwearing skin. This enables Freefoam to offer a 10-year guarantee on this range.

PVC Fascia Colour Finishes

We offer twelve different colour options of PVC fascia boards, including smooth and woodgrain finishes, which ensures that we have something to accommodate all types of projects.

  • The classic smooth white is the most popular option amongst our customers, and is likely the most common colour of roofline that you will see in residential areas.
  • Anthracite grey fascia boards are another popular choice with many contemporary properties opting for this one in either a smooth or woodgrain finish.
  • We also offer storm grey and dark grey fascia options for those who would either like to go slightly lighter or darker than anthracite.
  • Black fascia boards are the darkest option we offer, which really defines the roof edges of a property and offers a Tudor-style aesthetic when paired with white walls.
  • For those seeking a realistic wood colour and pattern, rosewood and golden oak fascia provide a rustic appearance.
  • The lightest woodgrain options we offer are white and agate grey fascia boards.
  • Chartwell green fascia boards are the newest addition to our UPVC roofline range, an elegant light green woodgrain finish that complements the growing popularity of chartwell green doors on homes.

Guarantee and Fire Rating of UPVC Fascia

All fascia boards from FloPlast and Freefoam carry a 10-year guarantee in relation to product performance and discolouration, apart from FloPlast's white option, which boasts a 20-year guarantee.

Is PVC Fascia Safe?

  • Our FloPlast fascia, cover and soffit boards carry a Class 2Y surface spread of flame rating in accordance with BS 476-7: 1997.
  • Freefoam fascia has a D-s3, d2/AHM reaction to fire classification.

This means that although the spread of flame across the surface of PVC is limited, the material does tend to char and may fall away when exposed to fire.

However, it is unlikely that the roof trim system will significantly affect the overall fire performance on any roof on which it is installed. Where it is normal practice to carry the eaves box over, between dwellings, it is important that the box is fire stopped at compartment walls with a proprietary fire stop material. Check out our fire ratings guide for more information on this topic.

Measuring PVC Fascia Boards

It's important to note that all of our board sizes are measured externally. Our PVC fascia boards are available in widths ranging from 150mm (6") up to 300mm (11.8"); however, larger sizes are available, so please contact us if so required. All our boards are available as standard in 5m lengths.

Installing Replacement Fascia

All fascia boards should be fixed to the rafter ends using 2 x 65mm plastic-headed nails located in line with each other vertically -  these fixings should be horizontally spaced no more than 600mm apart to ensure a secure installation.

When installing any fascia colour other than white, these fixing centres should be reduced to a maximum distance of 400mm to allow for the additional expansion of coloured boards.
