Coated Timber Cladding FAQs

How much does timber cladding cost?

Timber wall cladding typically costs between £20 and £50 per square meter. We supply innovative coated timber cladding that has been manufactured using a vigorous process to make it distinguishable from standard timber.

IRO’s timber cladding range is more durable and requires less maintenance than traditional timber cladding but not at the cost of your budget. The starting price point is at £28 per square meter but it can vary depending on the colour you prefer. We offer a wide range of colours suitable for any project. If you would like to learn more about the different shades, check out our thorough colour guide.

As with every project, the price will depend on the scale of the project. If you would like to get a quote or discuss timber cladding prices, do not hesitate to contact our friendly expert team.

How do I install timber cladding over brick?

Your home's facade can be significantly increased by adding weatherboard cladding, which can also improve the building's appearance and hide any cracked brickwork. The fitting process should take you a couple of days depending on how big the property is.

It is simple to install timber cladding over pre-existing brickwork. The key is to make sure the underlying support structure is solid and secure.

The first step is to secure the battens to the existing brickwork. A structural engineer will need to design the connections between the cladding support battens and the masonry wall to ensure they can withstand forces such as wind-uplift.

During the support structure's construction, a vapour-permeable membrane and any desired insulation can be installed. The weatherboards are then simply screwed to the battens, either by hand or with a pneumatic nail gun.
