Anthracite fascia boards are a very popular choice for rooflines on contemporary and new build properties. The modern blue/grey finish on the plastic fascia boards nicely complements traditional brickwork as well as white and cream render walls. The fact that anthracite grey has become such a popular colour for other external features, such as windows and doors, also contributes to its popularity.
To cater to a wider variety of projects, we offer smooth and woodgrain effect variations of anthracite fascia, both of which can be purchased in either 18mm thick full replacement boards or 10mm capping boards for refurbishment jobs. Anthracite soffit boards are also available for those looking for a full anthracite roofline.
Benefits of Anthracite Fascia Boards
Weather resistant – our anthracite grey fascia boards are made from high quality uPVC, which means that unlike traditional timber fascias, they will not rot or warp and do not need to be treated
Modern finish – since there are many external features of homes where anthracite grey has also become a popular colour, such as guttering, downpipes, windows, doors and cladding, anthracite fascias can help create a consistent and uniform aesthetic
Long-lasting – all of our anthracite fascia products hold a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee, but can last much longer than this with proper care and maintenance.
Low maintenance – all that is required to maintain the quality and sleek appearance of uPVC fascia boards is a wipe down once a year with a sponge and soapy water
Versatile in design – anthracite fascia can be used in many ways when it comes to exterior design, such as creating a strong contrast against lighter renders, complementing traditional brickwork with a modern edge or blending with existing anthracite features such as windows and guttering.
Specified – Our anthracite fascias are manufactured to BS EN 13245-2 and BS 7619 standards, and are also BBA approved.
Widely available – Due to its popularity over the last decade, so many exterior home products are now available in anthracite grey, including guttering, copings, slate roof, windows, doors and soffits. This means that if you like the look of anthracite fascias, you’ll easily be able to find other products in the same colour to match and create a uniform aesthetic.
What is the difference between smooth and woodgrain anthracite fascia boards?
Smooth anthracite boards have a sleek and minimalist finish, and they are most commonly used on contemporary properties that have light renders or bricks to create contrast. Woodgrain boards on the other hand feature a woodgrain effect texture, which can add an extra level of detail that compliments rustic style brickwork or anthracite painted timber garden features.
Do anthracite fascias fade over time?
Yes, fascia boards of any colour will inevitably begin to fade over time. That being said, our fascia boards are manufactured with high-quality UV-stabilised uPVC, which helps to protect the colour of the boards and trims from bleaching due to sunlight exposure. This means that the boards will retain their colour far longer than painted timber boards would.
Is anthracite grey fascia suitable for old properties?
Whilst anthracite grey is a colour most often associated with modern builds, it can suit older properties as well, especially when the woodgrain effect boards are paired with traditional style brick or stone walls.
Can you install anthracite fascia boards over existing timber?
Yes, but you should first thoroughly check the existing timber fascias to ensure that they are fit to be capped over. This means there should be no signs of rotting or cracking. If this is the case, then 10mm fascia capping boards can be fixed over them. However if the timber fascia are in poor condition, they should be removed and full 18mm replacement anthracite fascias should be fitted.
