Fascia Boards - 18mm

Fascia Boards Features and Benefits

We sell UPVC Fascia Boards manufactured by FloPlast and Freefoam, two of the top plastic manufacturers in the UK and Europe. Both boast a number of awards and certificates for quality and reliability which are backed up industry-leading guarantees.

PVC fascia is a virtually maintenance-free Roofline solution, as the outer skins are resistant to climatic extremes and will not allow moisture to penetrate the core of the Board. This ensures that they will not deteriorate in the way that traditional timber fascia will, through rot or warping, and all these benefits come without the need for applying protective treatments or painting.

Much like timber, our plastic Fascia Boards can be shaped, nailed, drilled and cut; however, unlike timber, they do not ignite easily and the spread of flame is limited, and as a result, have a Class 2Y fire rating.

  • Low Maintenance PVC fascia boards will not rot, warp or splinter, even when faced with extreme weather conditions!
  • Weather Resistant The weather resistant outer skin protects your home and eliminates the need for protective covering or painting.
  • Stylish and Durable With a wide range of smooth and woodgrain options, you are sure to find a style to suit your property.
  • Longevity The Replacement Fascia we stock carries a 10-year guarantee in relation to product performance and discolouration.

Fascia Boards Technical Specification

  • Our FloPlast UPVC fascia, cover and soffit boards carry a Class 2Y surface spread of flame rating in accordance with BS 476-7: 1997.
  • Kestrel bullnosed 22mm boards carry a Class 1 surface spread of flame rating in accordance with BS 476-7: 1987.
  • 16mm boards carry a Class 1 surface spread of flame rating in accordance with BS 476-7: 1997.
  • Freefoam fascia conforms with Class 1 resistance to fire propagation and Class 1Y resistance to spread of flames specification requirements.

This means that although the spread-of-flame across the surface of PVC is limited, the material does tend to char and may fall away when exposed to fire.

However, it is unlikely that the roof trim system will significantly affect the overall fire performance on any roof on which it is installed. Where it is normal practice to carry the eaves box over, between dwellings, it is important that the box is fire stopped at compartment walls with a proprietary fire stop material.

We offer fascia boards in both smooth and woodgrain finish options, for a full showcase of the difference between these two finishes, check out our smooth vs woodgrain finish video!

Fascia Boards Further Information

We stock UPVC Fascia Boards in widths ranging from 150mm (6") up to 250mm (10"), however larger sizes are available so please contact us if so required. All our UPVC Fascia Boards are available as standard in 5m lengths. Watch our video below detailing how to measure up your fascia boards.

Can you put new fascia over old fascia?

Plastic fascia boards have been designed to be installed over existing timber fascia in order to provide added protection and style to any property.

Do you need scaffolding for installing fascia?

Scaffolding isn’t always needed, but is recommended if you’re installing over a large area. If not, you would only need access to a ladder.

Why are plastic fascia boards better than timber?

Plastic does not rot or degrade like timber. It is also not susceptible to infestations from bugs and birds.

What finishes are available for fascia?

We supply fascia in both a smooth and woodgrain finish, so whether you prefer a clean, modern look, or traditional style, we’ve got you covered!

Fascia Boards Installation and Maintenance

All Replacement Fascia Boards should be fixed to the rafter ends using 2 x 65mm Polytop nails located in line with each other vertically - these fixings should be horizontally spaced no more than 600mm apart to ensure a secure installation. When installing any Woodgrain, Anthracite or Black boards these fixing centres should be reduced to a maximum distance of 400mm to allow for the additional expansion of coloured boards.

Many of our customers in the Scottish Isles choose to have their order redirected to a local haulier such as Woody's Express or Hebrides Haulage in Inverness.

Certain direct suppliers are able to ship outside of these areas depending on product quantity and availability. Please get in touch with us regarding any such queries.

SPLIT DELIVERIES

If you have ordered a mixture of goods that come both from us and direct from our manufacturing partners, you will be advised of this in your dispatch email. As the order is coming from two locations, you will receive two different deliveries. Delivery on direct items can have extended lead times and will need someone present to check and sign for the goods.

Occasionally, we don't have all items in stock at our main warehouse. If this is the case, we will endeavour to send the stock the same day from one of our other branches, in order to not delay delivery of the complete order. This may lead to a split delivery, dependant on the courier being used. We will contact you if there is going to be a delay due to this.

LABOUR AND MACHINERY

Please do not book machinery or labour until your goods have been received and checked over. Whilst every effort is made by our couriers to deliver your parcel within the stated timeframe, PVC Cladding cannot be held responsible for any additional costs incurred by delays outside of our control.

CHECKING AND SIGNING FOR ORDERS

SIGNED FOR POLICY – T&CS

All orders should be signed for. If you are unable to sign for your delivery, you can arrange with us for a neighbour to take delivery of your order. You can also advise us of a safe place where your order can be left, although we cannot take responsibility for any shortages or obvious damages.

Please ensure that you always check the number of packages that you are signing for. If there is an incorrect number of packages or any package appears damaged, you should note this on the signature panel and advise us so that we can rectify the issue as quickly as possible. Once goods have been signed for as being received ‘complete and in good condition’, any claims are not covered by the carrier’s insurance company.

Signing for goods as ‘unchecked’ makes any claims inadmissible, so please check the number of packages and look for any signs of any damage, noting any issues on the signature panel. Although the delivery drivers are busy, they are contractually obliged to wait whilst you check your delivery.

WHAT IF I CAN’T WAIT IN ALL DAY?

There is a ‘Notes’ section of the Basket review page where you can request for your goods to be left in a safe location – just tell us where to leave the order. Please not that we cannot take responsibility for any shortages or obvious damages if goods have not been signed for.

Please note that deliveries made by DHL (these are generally small orders with no pipe or bulky products) cannot be left in a safe location. You will be advised which carrier will be delivering your order by email at the point of dispatch.
