Take a look at our brief step by step installation instruction guide for Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheets.
Acrylic Sheets are a lightweight, UV resistant alternative to glass. The transparency and clarity of acrylic is actually better than glass, and unlike glass it can be easily machined, fabricated and mounted. Our sheets have a high gloss finish which enhances clarity and transparency, making it an ideal product for use in secondary glazing or greenhouse glazing.
Acrylic is a very lightweight material which makes is much easier to handle than traditional glazing materials. It is easy to work with in that it can be easily drilled or cut just like wood, without the need for specialist tools.
Sometimes known by the brand names of Plexiglass or Perspex, this material has excellent light transmission qualities and is extremely transparent - even more so than glass. Acrylic sheets have a high impact resistance - and on the rare occasions that they do break they will not shatter into tiny pieces. If you want a totally unbreakable product please visit our Soild Polycarbonate Sheets page.
Clear Acrylic is most commonly used for glazing in greenhouses, and for providing secondary glazing for old single-glazed windows. It is also used to glaze sheds and boats, or windows in industrial locations where there is a risk of contact damage. It is also commonly used for illuminated signs in the shopfitting and signwriting industries. Photographers will also use Opal acrylic sheet for the construction of lightboxes.
